How Omen Evaluations Work

What you need to do to pass and earn a funded account

An Omen Evaluation is a 30-day assessment of your trading. To pass it, you need to grow your account to its profit goal without ever breaching its loss limit. If you're new to proprietary trading, start with What Is Prop Trading? and How the Omen Funded Trading Program Works, Start to Finish.

An evaluation must be activated before you can trade it, and the 30 days start at activation rather than at purchase. See Evaluation Period & Funded Account Activation.

Purchased before July 30, 2026? Evaluations purchased before this date — and any funded accounts earned from them — keep the rule set that was in effect at the time of purchase. See Rules for Accounts Purchased Before July 30, 2026.

Passing the evaluation

Passing is measured on realized profit and loss. Positions must be closed or settled before their profit counts toward the goal, which means your buying power — the cash available in the account, excluding open positions — is the figure assessed against the profit goal.

There is no minimum number of trades and no minimum number of trading days. If a single trade takes your realized balance past the profit goal within the 30-day window, you pass.

See Profit Goals for the threshold that applies to your tier.

Failing the evaluation

There are two ways an evaluation ends without a funded account:

  • You breach the loss limit. Your loss limit is measured against equity, which includes the unrealized profit and loss of your open positions and the reserved value of any open orders. If your equity touches or falls below the loss limit at any moment, the account is closed immediately — even if the position later recovers. See Drawdown Policy.

  • The 30 days expire. If you have not reached the profit goal by the end of the evaluation period, the evaluation closes permanently. See What Happens If I Fail or My Evaluation Expires?.

Skipping the evaluation

If you would rather not trade the evaluation at all, Instant Funding is offered at activation and converts your evaluation directly into a funded account.

The rules that apply during an evaluation

These are the same limits that apply once you are funded. There is no consistency rule, no minimum profitable days requirement, and no restriction on which markets you can trade.

What you don't need

No background check is required to purchase or complete an evaluation. It is only required once you pass and want to activate your funded account.
